WHAT WE DO

We cut the risk of rejection before you apply

Most rejections can be anticipated. That is why we check the risks in advance and build the application around one specific bank.

  • We prepare for one specific bank

We prepare for one specific bank We assemble and check the entire file for the bank you are applying to, and submit only once the documents fully meet its requirements.

  • We review your ownership structure

Before submission we screen the owners and directors exactly as the bank will, so we can find and clear the issues that would otherwise cause a refusal.

  • We help you evidence your link to the Czech Republic

We help you put together contracts, partners and a business plan, and present them so the bank is left with no grounds to refuse.

NAWI is registered with the Czech Chamber of Tax Advisers (KDP ČR)

HOW WE OPEN THE ACCOUNT

Three steps to an open account

A transparent process, so you always know what is happening and when.

  1. Review and choice of bank

We look at your business, your turnover and your goals, then pick a bank that will genuinely open an account for your company.

  2. Documents

We prepare and check the full package: evidence of your link to the Czech Republic, source of funds and a business plan.

  3. Through to approval

We support you through the bank’s checks until the account is open, and step in if the bank requests further documents or freezes the account.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can an account be opened in the Czech Republic?

Usually 7 to 14 days from the moment all the documents are submitted. The exact timing depends on the bank and on how complete the file is.

Can a bank refuse to open an account?

Yes. Banks turn down non-residents over AML checks, a director’s residency status or errors in the paperwork, and a formal refusal closes that bank off for good. We prepare the documents so as to reduce that risk, and choose the bank that fits your case.

Can you open an account for a foreign company?

Yes. We work with non-residents and foreign businesses: we find a bank that will open an account for your company and prepare the evidence of its economic link to the Czech Republic.

Do you handle accounting once the account is open?

Yes. Bookkeeping, VAT/DPH and reporting are available as a separate service.

What should I do if my account is frozen?

We help get accounts released at Czech banks, as a separate support service.

Opening a bank account in the Czech Republic for foreign businesses

An account with a Czech bank gives you access to settlements across the EU, dependable payments and European standards. Banks screen businesses closely, though: they can refuse over an AML check, a director’s residency status or errors in the paperwork, and a formal refusal closes that bank off. Getting the application right the first time matters.

The bank looks not only at the company but at the people behind it, the owners and directors, through public registers and the media. Negative information about any one of them can lead to a refusal. The line of business counts too, and so can the company name: a word associated with a high-risk sector is sometimes enough on its own.

The rules do not stand still. Banks update their internal screening policies regularly, so a case that would have been approved a year ago may not pass today. That is why it pays to work from a specific bank’s current requirements.

The bank also assesses your geography: the countries you trade with, sanctions lists and its own country ratings. EU countries can be treated as risky too, Cyprus and the Baltic states among them. We factor this in when choosing the bank and preparing the documents.

NAWI runs the whole process: we review your case, choose a bank that will open an account for your business, prepare the documents and the evidence of your economic link to the Czech Republic, and support you through the checks until the account is open. If the account is frozen, we help get it released. We can also take on your bookkeeping afterwards, as a separate service.
